 How to calculate  Negative Marking in Preliminary Examination/JKAS Exam/IAS Exam. There is a negative marking of 1/3rd for every wrong answer in both the Question Papers of Prelimnary Test of JKAS Exam or IAS Examination. Since there are 100 questions in GS Paper 1 and each question carries 2 marks. So it if you mark 1 right answer you will be awarded 2 marks for that. If you mark 1 wrong  answer, your total score will be by 1/3rd marks which means 1/3×2 = 0.66 Marks. Now suppose you attempted a total of 50 questions and among them, 40 questions are marked as right answers so your total score will be 40×2=80. Since there are 10 wrong answers marked by you, so a total 10×0.66=6.6 Marks will be deducted from your totol score of 80. So your net score will be equal to 80-6.6=73.4. For CSAT Paper there usually 80 questions and each question carries 2.5 marks for right answer. So 1 right answer will yield 2 marks and one wrong answer will make a deduction of 0.3×2.5= 0....
