How to Maintain Consistency in Studies?/Lost Interest in Studies?/11 Tips to Maintain Consistency in Studies for IAS/JKAS Exam.
Consistency in Studies
I am done.
No more studies.
I am tired now.
I can not do it more.
Do you experience such things during
your Preparation for any type of Competitive Examination?
You are definitely facing the same problem during your
preparation of JKAS or IAS Exam (or any other exam) because these exams follow
a lengthy process having three stages and a person needs continuous efforts for
a long time to qualify all the stages of the exam.
For these Competitive examinations, you have to study a lot till
you get qualified.
Human body and mind do not have much capacity for long time
to stay in a similar situation. Human mind and body both needs rest. But what
if we rest for long time? We need rest but in the form of short breaks and
simultaneously we should keep our self motivated all the time for qualification
of any competitive examination.
Here we are sharing some of the tips that relax our body and
mind and at the same time keep us motivated also for the long term study.
1. Regular Breaks.
After each hour study take 10 minutes break.
After 2 hours of study take 20 min break or
After 3 hours of continuous study take 30 minutes break. It will relax and recharge your body and mind.
2. Good Friend Circle.
Solo personality invites boredom.
Good friendship circle is also required in order to get rid of Boredom. If you
are an JKAS or IAS aspirant than it is very important that you must have at
least a friend who is also preparation for the same examination. It will not
only help you in cope up with the problems of guidance but also the keep you motivated
from his or her preparation level and strategies. Whenever you people will
meet, you will definitely discuss about the same subject and you will analyse
yourself that how much preparation you have done as compared to your colleague
which will surely boost you up for further preparation.
3. Contact with your Mentors/Seniors.
Yes you must keep a
regular contact with one or few seniors or mentors for guidance and motivation.
Whenever you are feeling low, you can call, interact or meet with your seniors
that will make you feel fresh. When he or she will express about the job he has
done after examination qualification, you will also be aspired of the same and
this will motivate you to study again. This will boost you up. So try to
establish a regular contact with your senior or mentor.
4. Fix time table not only for study but for other things also.
It is a general perspective of all students that a time
table should be framed just for the studies in a whole day. But it is not
necessary that you only keep studying whole the day. Doing that will definitely
make you feel bore after few days once you start this routine. So it is better
to frame a time table which also includes other things besides just the study
plans. Other things may includes watching TV, listening to Music, going for
prayers, chatting with friends, morning and evening walks, etc. It will
recharge your mind and after doing these extra things you will feel fresh. So
do not only study all the time in a day. Also make Sunday or any suitable day
as holiday on which you will study only few hours than the routine day. Make Sundays
the Cheat days. Another important thing you must add to your time table is
Sleeping time. You must sleep at least 7 to 8 hours at night. You may manage
the sleep time as per your study plans. Good amount of sleep will make you feel
fresh and you won’t be able to feel sleepy during your preparation time. Besides
this fix a time table for Daily light exercise or Gym or Yoga also because
these things will also keep you fit, healthy and fresh.
5. Enjoy your hobby.
Yes it is very important to enjoy your
hobby during your preparation of any competitive exam like JKAS or IAS, etc.
Do not leave your hobby for any reason. Hobby is a favorite Topic of the
interviewers also. JKPSC or UPSC usually ask question based on your hobby in
the Personality Test or Interview. Enjoying your hobby will not only make you
refresh during the preparation stage but also will make your prepare for the
Interview. Hobby is a particular thing that you enjoy during your free time.
For example, walking, gardening, reading novels or other fiction books,
paintings, long drives or short drives, listening to music, watering the
plants, Seeding the Birds, gossiping with friends or family, etc. Whenever you
feel finished with your study quota of the day or feel bored of studies take a
break and enjoy your hobby for some time.
6. Eat and Drink Properly.
As we all know that health is
wealth. We can not study properly without proper Food supply. Our mind needs
food for energy. So take proper balance diet during the preparation of any
exam. We must keep our brain healthy by eating good foods which are healthy for
brain like Milk, dry fruits, fresh fruits, etc. Do not eat fast food and food
from outside which may cause a problem to your body and make you feeling
unhealthy. This will again hamper your daily routine of study. Take water
regularly whole day. Drink about 10 to 12 glasses of water daily. Take soaked
dry fruits in morning. Be cautious about your diet especially during your mains
exams are going on because any health problems at that time may result in loss
of study. If your body and mind is healthy, you will not be able to feel
boredom during your preparation. Do not eat much as it may again go problematic
in future.
7. Watch Interviews and Live Discussion Videos of Some Successful Candidates.
To remain motivated during the preparation for the JKAS exam
or any competitive exam ((IAS), it is very important that one must watch the videos
of interviews of Selected candidates. In today’s world, there are various
social media platforms are there like facebook, instagram, whatsapp, youtube,
etc where such type of content is readily available. Go and search for these
successful candidates stories on YouTube. Various channels are covering the
success stories of the candidates on YouTube. This will boost you up and you
will get activated again if you once felt low about the exam.
8. Know the benefits of what you are chasing for.
First of all you have to research about what you have planed to do. If you have good knowledge about what you are going to do or what you have planned to do, only then you will maintain a Consistency while preparation for the Goal. Research about benefits of being an Officer of at union level or at State level. There are many things which keep the aspirants motivated for qualifying the IAS or JKAS Examination. For example some wants Power, some wants Respect in society, others wants to help the needy and poor people of the country by being at a significant post or position. Some keeps aspiration of having a secured livelihood by becoming an officer. So there are many more things that keep the candle of your preparation always burning. So you must possess a complete knowledge about your goal only then you will remain focused upon the same.9. True Dream.
If you have truly decided to be a particular personality
then you will be motivated by your dream itself. This is also known as self
motivation. If you are moving along the crowd, you will not be able to stay
longer in the race. Your dreams should be realistic and not the imaginary ones
because imaginary things fades away soon. So keep your dream always alive
inside you. This will make you live while preparation of the exam. Many people
dream of becoming an IAS or JKAS officer but failed. One of the reasons is that
the aspirants have not dreamt truly but just want to do so because others are
also doing. So if you start feeling bored during the preparation, start reminding
your dream of becoming the High level Public Administrator.
10. Know Why you want to be?
What for you are chasing your
dreams? Know 'WHY?'. Why you want to do that? Why you want to be so? Ask these
questions to yourself. If you find some valid reasons for qualifying the IAS or
JKAS exam, then move ahead. If you do not find a good answer, do not initiate
the process of preparation. First clear your Why. If your Why is clear, you
will never feel preparation of any exam a boring thing.
11. Fear.
You can win if you have a fear of losing. Dar Ke Agay
Jeet Ha. Maintain a constant fear in your mind that what if you will fail?
Failure is a fear that may drag you to do hard work consistently. If one does not
have fear, one cannot become successful in a particular field reason being that
it will not maintain a consistency in ones preparation. So studying for
JKAS OR IAS Mains Examination is itself a challenge because it needs only one
thing that is Consistency. So always keep fearing of disqualification, fearing
of losing an opportunity, fearing of losing a career, etc that will always keep
you motivate towards the study.
If you remember these things, you are definitely
going to be motivated all the times.
