How to prepare for JKAS Inerview ?

As You know that JKAS is a three tier examination. Candidates who qualify the preliminary test are qualified for the Mains examination in 25:1 ratio of posts available. Candidates qualifying mains exams are called for interview in the ratio of 3:1 of the total available posts. So it's very tough to reach the their stage that is Interview. More precisely the third stage is called as Personality Test. In the new pattern, interview weighs about 250 marks. In the previous exams of 2016 batch of JKAS, the highest marks achieved by a candidate were about 190 out of 250. So achieving more than 150 is a good Score. Moreover it's also important that Mains examination marks also matter a lot. If a candidate gets good marks in mains exam, he or she should not worry about the interview marks. Interview marks matter a lot for those who are at the edge or having achieved little less marks in mains examination because it's the composite score of mains and Interview which determined the merit of the final Selection list. For interview the JKPSC or UPSC ask to fill of a Detailed Application Form (DAF) by the candidates. It's very important to fill this form carefully because whole of your interview will revolve around the information you are writing on your DAF.

How to prepare for interview?

Soon after mains examination results are out many Educational and Coaching institutes start advertising the offer of providing guidance of Interview and Conducting Mock interviews. It's not bad to go for Mocks. If you are a new candidate having qualified for the first time, you must take  some Mock interviews in some good institution. But one thing you must take into consideration that Mocks may also demotivate you. This is because when you face mocks may be you are not able to express yourself there properly and you feel negative about yourself. No need to worry. Be calm. Take a deep breathe and maintain the positivity in your mind. Mocks are actually making you aware that how much you are prepared and  how much you need more to do. Note your negative points. Note your bad habits in mocks. Note your expression style. Take counciling after the mocks from  the panel of the mock.

Secondly you may start preparing at the home by your own. Make habit of watching Online interviews or mocks of some successful candidates. Speak in front of mirror. Practise your introductions more and more times. Practise your vocal expressions.
Read more and more daily current news papers. Prepare notes about current issues going on. Prepare discussions about the present state or national or international issues. Generate the personal opinions for the particular issues.

Thirdly you must know you hobby. It's very important topic of each interview. Panel is much interesting in knowing what you eat, what you do in free time, what you do to enjoy the time, what  are your areas of interest.

Fourthly you should remain highly positive during your preparations and should enjoy while preparation. Go to watch Movies, have fun with friends, go to local level picnics, but always keep in mind that you have to face interview and devote happily some time to get prepared for this interview.

Feel positive before interview.
