Overview of JKAS examination.

JKAS Examination:     Jammu and Kashmir UT Service, better known as Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS), is the prestigious service in the UT of J and K. The JKAS Exam is conducted by JKPSC (Jammu Kashmir Public Services Commission) at UT level. The exam is conducted in three stages. The first stage is preliminary test (PT) which is just a screening test to allow students to sit in the next stage of examination. The next stage is Mains Examination. After qualifying this tier, the candidates are called for interview. Interview (Personality Test) is Conducted  by a panel constituted by JKPSC Chairperson and members. Final result of JKAS exam is declared after this stage. Then JKPSC send the selection list of qualified candidate to Government  Medical College Jammu and Srinagar for the medical examination of the selected candidates respectivly. How to study for Preliminary Test (PT ) ? PT is based on GS and CSAT. GS is a vast area to study. For a beginner who is aspiring for qualifying this prestigious exam, it's very important that he or she must start with basics. For basics one must go for basic general knowledge from various sources available in the market. Many says that one must go for NCERT books for clearing basic concepts. That is also a good option. But most of the candidate do not read NCERT and it look boring to cover all small books from class 6th to 12th. The other option is Arihant Basic General Knowledge books written by Tarun Goyal or Manohar Panday, Lucent's General Knowledge book. These books  are also the excellent material for clearing General Knowledge. Next is where from we get our Current Affairs. The most important source is Daily News Paper (The Hindu or The Times of India). Reading Daily News article and news items not only will enhance your General Knowledge but also English Vocabulary

Previous and present JKAS exam Pattern.

Previous and present JKAS exam Pattern. As we know that old pattern of JKAS exam has now been abolished and new pattern has been established since Jan 2018 by the new SRO 103 issued by JKPSC. The new pattern is more or less similar to the Civil services Exam conducted by UPSC. New pattern is also a three tier exam having preliminary test (PT) , mains examination and interview stage. Preliminary Test: In old pattern there were two papers. One consisting of Choossen subject (Optional Subject) and other consists of General Studies. In new pattern there are also two papers. One consists of General Studies (GS) and other consists of CSAT ( Civil Services Aptitude Test). PT is a entery stage. It's marks are not added to the final merit list and is considered only for making entry of candidates for the Mains Examinations. Each paper consist of 200 marks. In GS there are 100 questions each carrying 2  marks. In CSAT there are 80 questions each carrying 2.5 marks. CSAT is of  qualify

Stop gap basis of arrangement of employee of Government

Normally it has been seen that many government departments have lot of vacancies at various levels of the posts. Mostly we see in Education department, there are ample of vacancies of teachers, masters, lecturers, assistant professors, etc. Government can not fill all the vacancies at the same time because of constraints of budgets. So government make ad hoc arrangements of posts to fill the gap. Similarly govt also do fill some vacant posts on the basis of stop gap arrangements. Stop gap arrangement is don't to fill the gap of vacant posts when there are no direct recruitment to fill the posts. Stop gap arrangements is done by placement of already appointed officers or employees at the respective vacant posts without increasing their pay and without changing their pay scale and grade.
