Overview of JKAS examination.

JKAS Examination:     Jammu and Kashmir UT Service, better known as Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS), is the prestigious service in the UT of J and K. The JKAS Exam is conducted by JKPSC (Jammu Kashmir Public Services Commission) at UT level. The exam is conducted in three stages. The first stage is preliminary test (PT) which is just a screening test to allow students to sit in the next stage of examination. The next stage is Mains Examination. After qualifying this tier, the candidates are called for interview. Interview (Personality Test) is Conducted  by a panel constituted by JKPSC Chairperson and members. Final result of JKAS exam is declared after this stage. Then JKPSC send the selection list of qualified candidate to Government  Medical College Jammu and Srinagar for the medical examination of the selected candidates respectivly. Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission: Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission(JKPSC) is a constitutional body formed by the Government of India under articles 128 and 133. JKPSC is responsible for conducting various examinations for the appointment to various civil services in the Indian administered union territory of Jammu and Kashmir.  JKPSC is an autonomous body which is governed by its own rules and regulations. It can frame its own rules at any time depending upon the need of the hour. It's jurisdiction is only up to the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Now Ladakh is not in its jurisdiction. There are two headquarters of JKPSC. One in Jammu (near bustand) and other in Kashmir (Solina). Every year, the commission shifts its office from one capital to another for the period of six months. It occurs twice in a year, making the JKPSC functioning from May to October in summer capital Srinagar and from November to April in winter capital Jammu. Members

KAS Exam dates of previous Notifications/Time Gap between KAS prelims and Mains Exam: A brief analysis about the various dates related to the different JKAS examination conducted from 2011 to 2016 by JKPSC has been done by us. Gaps between KAS prelims and Mains examination from year 2011 to 2018 KAS exam. This analysis will help aspirants to know about the different dates on which the notifications arrived and exam was conducted in past by JKPSC. We have compiled the data related to the date of notification of JKAS posts, date of Preliminary Test Conducted, dates of Mains Exam Conducted, dates of interview conducted and date of final result of JKAS exams. This will give an idea to the new aspirants about the time given by JKPSC to prepare for various stages of this exam. One can easily know about the gap between different stages. However there is lot of gap in between the various stages in some cases which is due to the unnecessary delays in the  process

Cut off marks (Final Selection) in KAS exams (2011-2018): We have analyzed few of the previously conducted JKAS exams since 2011 and complied a data regarding the cut off marks of final merit in different categories. This study is done in order to understand the cut off marks in different exams which is definitely related to the number of posts advertised in the particular year of advertisement by JKPSC. Final Cut off marks in JKAS exams from 2011 to 2018. Here, in the table we have analyzed the cut off marks in different categories ranging from OM, RBA, SC ST, ALC, SLC and PHC. This will definitely help our fresh and old aspirants to get an idea about the final merit cut points. And accordingly the aspirant can plan a policy for preparation to fetch marks which he or she expect to be the cut points in the sitting Examination. We have collected this information from various advertisement notifications, result notifications, annual statements of JKPSC since 2009. This information is complied in such format in order to make aspirants more aware about the number of posts of JKAS that has been advertised by JKPSC from time to time. Further the new aspirants will be helped to know the number of candidates apply every time and also know about the level of competition in JKAS exam from time to time. This is mere an overview of number of posts (KAS) advertised by JKPSC since 2009 up to 2018. As we know that number of posts advertised time to time depends on the number of vacancies of KAS in different Departments. Some times there are more vacancies and other time very few.
